In tune with the digitization of the network, the installation of smart meters makes it possible to carry out remote operations, for the benefit of customers, the regulator and the Company. Specifically, it allows us to perform remote and automated reading, which ensures the issuance of monthly bills with our customers' consumption. It also avoids your face-to-face interaction with our readers/collaborators and enables a quick replacement of the service to our customers in the event of any power outage.

In 2022, we registered around 300,000 customers with smart metering systems. According to our planning, by 2025 we will reach 1.9 million customers. We started an important smart meter installation project at our largest distributor in Sao Paulo, Brazil, with the goal of providing 20% of customers with this technology by 2024. In this way, we seek to become the leading company in Brazil in service quality, customer satisfaction and operational efficiency, involving an improvement in service quality indices and the automation of services and processes.

In Brazil, the meters we install are manufactured locally. The equipment is made with recycled plastic material, unprecedented in the electricity sector in this country, contributing to the sustainability of the production chain and the business. This initiative corresponds to an innovation project that we have developed together with the National Electric Energy Agency.
