Enel's sustainability strategy aims to create value through sustainability metrics integrated into our investment decisions.

 

At Enel Américas, as part og the Enel Gropu, we have committed to specifically contribute to 4 of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Our sustainable strategy and our integrated business model allow us to contribute to the achievement of the following:

-    SDG 7 (Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all),

-    SDG 9 (Build resilient infrastructure, promote sustainable industrialization and encourage innovation),

-    SDG 11 (Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable) and

-    SDG 13 (Take urgent action to address climate change and its impacts).

Decarbonization of power generation: Thanks to our continued commitment to decarbonization, renewable energy has increased 10% from 2021 levels and represents the majprity of the 50.6 TWh of total energy generated in 2023.

We are one of the region's largest private sector renewable energy players with 13.2 GW of installed renewable capacity. In 2023, we added 1.8 GW of new renewable capacity built during the year.

This focus in our generation portfolio brings our share of zero-emission power generation to 85% by the end of 2023.

Electrification of consumption: Our integrated offering approach allows us to supply electricity from renewable sources and integrated services to customers, supporting them in their climante ambitions, efficiency needs and reliable supply. Electrification is key to this and networks also play and important role in this process.

Network digitalization: Our commitment to the quality, efficiency and reliability of our networks is reflected in the Company's investment plan, which has focused on new connections and the digitalization of the network. During 2023, investments of US$1,185 were made, focused mainly on new connections, network maintenance, optimizing service quality; improve safety and reduce energy losses.

Our dividend policy for 2023 considers distributing to our shareholders an amount equivalent to 30% of the profit reported for the year.¹

Financial instruments linked to sustainability give our debt holders an idea of the direction our Enel Group is taking in terms of our sustainability strategy by creating an explicit link between financial costs and climate risk.
