We estimate that, by 2024, 50% of people leaving coal plants will be reassigned and attend upskilling and reskilling programs, while the other 50% will take advantage of early retirement plans. We are also committed to strengthening upskilling and reskilling programs that will account for up to 40% of total employee training hours, as well as consolidating other internal training programs.

Strengthening the "internal training" approach

The Company has confirmed our commitment to projects to support local communities, including infrastructure expansion, education and training, social inclusion projects and projects to support local culture. More specifically, our goals for 2030 are:

  • 1 Mn beneficiaries of quality education projects (SDG 4);
  • 8 Mn beneficiaries of projects on universal access to clean energy (SDG 7);
  • 1 Mn beneficiaries of projects to promote decent work and sustainable, inclusive and sustainable economic growth (SDG 8).
With the aim of helping reskill/upskill the workforce with a potentially obsolete skill set, create business opportunities and strengthen the country's production and economy, we have created professional training programs with the aim of involving the main players in our supply chain.
